Moscow’s Golden Night: A Stalinist Skyscraper, Glamour and a Secret Dialogue Between Eras

 

What happens when a legendary Stalinist skyscraper becomes the backdrop for art, fashion, opera and international guests?

On July 19, 2026, the Grand Ballroom of HILTON MOSCOW LENINGRADSKAYA hosted The Golden Code of Russian Culture, an art evening held as part of the international Connection of Eras project.

The historic building became much more than an elegant venue. It turned into a spectacular meeting point between the cultural past and the creative present.

The “Golden Code” showed that Russian cultural heritage can still surprise, inspire and speak directly to the present.

Behind the Doors of the Famous Skyscraper

Guests were taken on a tour of the hotel museum and immersed in the atmosphere of 1950s Moscow.

The halls, once connected with diplomats and influential figures, provided a dramatic setting for an evening filled with contemporary art and culture.

And then the real visual story began.

Art, Jewelry and Unexpected Details

The exhibition featured Irina Mitrikova, Elmira Kushtova, Alexandra Nesterova, Victoria Kalashnikova, Luara Musi, Elizaveta Yagovitova, Yulia Kurikhina, Natalia Aglicheva and Gaya Grig.

Irina Mitrikova presented her diptych Chess Symphony for the first time, while Elmira Kushtova showed three-dimensional paintings with semi-precious mineral inlays.

Alexandra Nesterova presented her Tree of Wishes art objects, while the exhibition also featured sculptural floristry, jewelry artifacts, ceramic floristry and designer jewelry.

Fashion Took Over the Historic Space

The MILA YURAKOVA evening-dress show, featuring SLAVA MODELS and PERSONNALITÉ, brought a modern interpretation to the aesthetics of the past.

Designer Anna Gorbacheva (AGf-Jewels) presented An Elegant Ode to the Grandmaster, dedicated to world chess champion Alexander Alekhine and accompanied by Sergei Prokofiev's music.

The atmosphere was completed by THEATRE des PARFUMS FRANCE, inspired by Galina Ulanova, and vintage Soviet-era perfumes.

The Program Featured

Opera star Marina Agafonova (“magical soprano,” Grand Verdi Prize), Aurelia Kras (coloratura soprano), virtuoso violinist Igor Balashov, Alexander Schweidel, President of the Eurasian Chamber of National Cultural Values, Lubarto Sartoyo Sanvirya, President of the Alliance of Business Structures and Entrepreneurs of Southeast Asian Countries (Indonesia), Amerigo Tatel (Philippines), artist Artur Mirzoyan, international fashion expert and stylist Alexander Belov, and foreign trade expert Alexey Baranov.

The dance program then took guests through the 1930s, 1950s and 2020s, with tango and European and Latin American dance workshops adding even more movement to the evening.

The evening proved that cultural heritage doesn't have to sit quietly behind museum glass.

It can be glamorous. It can be contemporary. And, perhaps most importantly, it can bring completely different generations and creative worlds into the same room.
