Russian Art in Taormina: What Really Happened at Beyond Time?

 Russian contemporary art has entered an international setting — and the result turned out to be far more interesting than another formal exhibition abroad.

The project Beyond Time — “Beyond Time: A Dialogue Between Russia and Eternity” — began in Pulsano, Apulia, and continued in Taormina, Sicily. From August 7–9, 2026, 15 Russian artists presented their works at Taimeless Art Gallery in the historic center of Taormina.

And here is where things get interesting.

The exhibition placed Russian art directly in front of an international audience, including visitors from the United States, the United Kingdom and other European countries. For many of them, the Russian contemporary art scene was unfamiliar.

There were no guarantees that the works would be immediately understood.

That was precisely the point.

What happens when the artwork has to speak without its usual cultural explanations?

Some visitors stopped in front of individual works and reacted to their technique or emotional impact. Several artworks eventually found buyers from different countries.

So, no, this was not simply a case of Russian artists arriving in Italy, putting paintings on the walls and waiting for visitors.

Beyond Time created a genuine encounter between different cultural experiences.

The project brought together Taimeless Art Gallery, Pichierri Art and Zhurkina Art. Each organization had a distinct role: exhibition environment and international audience, curatorial and artistic work, and organizational coordination connected with the project’s artistic content.

The artists themselves approached the theme of time from completely different directions.

Memory. Movement. Faith. Technology. Dreams. Love. Transformation.

There was no single visual formula.

And perhaps that is exactly why the exhibition worked.

International art does not necessarily become stronger by trying to make itself universally obvious. Sometimes the opposite is true. An artist keeps their own language, and the viewer is invited to enter that language from a different cultural perspective.

Taormina therefore became more than another exhibition location.

It became a test of what happens when Russian contemporary art leaves its familiar environment and meets an audience that brings different experiences, references and expectations.

And the most important part?

The exhibition ended, but the journey did not.

Some works found new owners. Others found new viewers. The artists gained another international point of contact.

Pulsano was one stage. Taormina became another.

The next destination will bring a new audience, a new context and a new conversation.

The real international journey of art begins when the exhibition is over.

Moscow’s Fashion Night: Star Models, Bold Designs and a Runway Full of Surprises

 

On March 28, 2026, Yarovit Hall turned into a vibrant meeting point for Russian fashion as Fashion Alley brought designers, models, artists, business representatives and media together under one roof.

This was more than a standard runway show. The event combined fashion, music, striking stage visuals and a lineup of recognizable models.

Fashion Alley showed that Russian fashion can be bold, diverse and impossible to overlook.

The Runway Had Plenty to Talk About

The collections ranged from handmade handbags to men's tailoring, statement jewelry and dramatic evening dresses.

Zinaida Serova presented Bright You, while Rezeda Fatkhutdinova and TR COLLECTION showed a men's suit line combining classic and contemporary elements.

NOVIK BIJOU by Ekaterina Novikova focused on men's jewelry. Olga Lebedeva presented Crown of the Empire, featuring black velvet and statement accessories.

Meanwhile, Artem Buynitsky and BUINITSKIY brought bold forms and unconventional solutions to the runway.

A particularly feminine note came from Lyubov Alymova's CELESTE NOIR, featuring elegant evening and cocktail dresses made from lightweight fabrics.

Star Models Take the Spotlight

The runway featured Anastasia Kovalskaya, Nadezhda Zhuravleva, Tamara Shablovskaya, Irina Chezganova, Maru Gulishan, Elena Kovaleva, Irina Balueva, Margarita Kuzmina, Esmeralda Zlatoslavskaya and Marina Evstigneeva.

And the fashion show did not stay silent.

ALEXSIS SKIZAR, Ekaterina Ustimenko-Bakumovskaya, OLLI and ROMAN ARRIGO provided the musical program. Ustimenko-Bakumovskaya's Fashion Alley has already become a traditional part of the project.

Moscow’s Golden Night: A Stalinist Skyscraper, Glamour and a Secret Dialogue Between Eras

 

What happens when a legendary Stalinist skyscraper becomes the backdrop for art, fashion, opera and international guests?

On July 19, 2026, the Grand Ballroom of HILTON MOSCOW LENINGRADSKAYA hosted The Golden Code of Russian Culture, an art evening held as part of the international Connection of Eras project.

The historic building became much more than an elegant venue. It turned into a spectacular meeting point between the cultural past and the creative present.

The “Golden Code” showed that Russian cultural heritage can still surprise, inspire and speak directly to the present.

Behind the Doors of the Famous Skyscraper

Guests were taken on a tour of the hotel museum and immersed in the atmosphere of 1950s Moscow.

The halls, once connected with diplomats and influential figures, provided a dramatic setting for an evening filled with contemporary art and culture.

And then the real visual story began.

Art, Jewelry and Unexpected Details

The exhibition featured Irina Mitrikova, Elmira Kushtova, Alexandra Nesterova, Victoria Kalashnikova, Luara Musi, Elizaveta Yagovitova, Yulia Kurikhina, Natalia Aglicheva and Gaya Grig.

Irina Mitrikova presented her diptych Chess Symphony for the first time, while Elmira Kushtova showed three-dimensional paintings with semi-precious mineral inlays.

Alexandra Nesterova presented her Tree of Wishes art objects, while the exhibition also featured sculptural floristry, jewelry artifacts, ceramic floristry and designer jewelry.

Fashion Took Over the Historic Space

The MILA YURAKOVA evening-dress show, featuring SLAVA MODELS and PERSONNALITÉ, brought a modern interpretation to the aesthetics of the past.

Designer Anna Gorbacheva (AGf-Jewels) presented An Elegant Ode to the Grandmaster, dedicated to world chess champion Alexander Alekhine and accompanied by Sergei Prokofiev's music.

The atmosphere was completed by THEATRE des PARFUMS FRANCE, inspired by Galina Ulanova, and vintage Soviet-era perfumes.

The Program Featured

Opera star Marina Agafonova (“magical soprano,” Grand Verdi Prize), Aurelia Kras (coloratura soprano), virtuoso violinist Igor Balashov, Alexander Schweidel, President of the Eurasian Chamber of National Cultural Values, Lubarto Sartoyo Sanvirya, President of the Alliance of Business Structures and Entrepreneurs of Southeast Asian Countries (Indonesia), Amerigo Tatel (Philippines), artist Artur Mirzoyan, international fashion expert and stylist Alexander Belov, and foreign trade expert Alexey Baranov.

The dance program then took guests through the 1930s, 1950s and 2020s, with tango and European and Latin American dance workshops adding even more movement to the evening.
